Meet the Owner of Mosquito Joe of Encinitas-Del Mar
Tony Gallardo is a native of San Diego, California. He attended San Diego State University, where he completed a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration before accepting a commission as Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps.
Tony went on to complete 22 years of active service with the United States Marine Corps as an Attack Helicopter Pilot. During this time, he deployed 6 times, flew over 3,800 mishap-free flight hours, and over 300 combat missions in the AH-1W. He then retired honorably in 2015 and joined Booz Allen Hamilton as a Fiscal and Operational Analyst in San Diego.
Since 2020, Tony has been a board member of the Sugarbear Foundation, named after a good friend, an AH-1W pilot, who was lost while fighting in Afghanistan in 2010. The Sugarbear Foundation’s purpose is to assist the spouses and family members of our fallen heroes with fiscal and educational assistance as they navigate their new lives without their service members.
After several years of working as an Analyst, Tony decided he wanted to open his own business. Determined to do so, he looked at his options and decided Mosquito Joe was the right fit for him.
In April of 2020, Mosquito Joe of Encinitas-Del Mar opened. Tony not only enjoys being able to help his local area with their mosquito and other pest control needs but also the opportunity it gives him to continue his work with the Sugarbear Foundation.
